{Very} Happy Weekend! Links / June 23
After a long day of flights on Friday, I’ve arrived in Eugene, Oregon– and this little town is a hub of crazy activity for the next week, as the 2012 Olympic Trials are finally (really??) upon us. I don’t post much about my life as a runner, but this week is a huge one for me– I race for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team!
There are two things you need to do to get a spot on the Olympic Team: be in the top three at the final of your event and have the Olympic A standard. I am one of five steeplechasers who has the A standard going into the trials. Unless the final race goes fast enough for new girls to run the A mark, we are the only five girls who can make the team. First, I’ll have to get through a preliminary round on Monday– and with this crazy event, you never know what will happen. Falling, twisting, breaking is certainly a possibility. The final is on Friday. So if the blog is a tiny bit quiet this week– please understand why! Likely, Monday and Friday will be the only days really affected (maybe only one post per day), but everything should hum along as usual. I am on PST time though, so posts might be a tad bit later in the day (you’re likely used to that though).

DIY: Another perfect weekend project– an oversized fringe garland by Hank and Hunt for Oh Happy Day! I love this… it might show up at our wedding somewhere!
